One year after Haiyan left nearly 8,000 people dead or missing in the eastern Philippines, many survivors are still suffering from emotional distress despite being busy with physically rebuilding their lives. Over four million people were displaced when Haiyan destroyed or damaged almost everything in its path as it swept through the eastern and central Philippines on 08 November 2013. At least one million of these survivors were residents of coastal communities devastated by tidal surges as high as 10 meters, and are being prioritized for relocation. EPA/DENNIS M.
